How the course works

The exam rewards skills as much as facts. About half of the points come from experiments, graphs and data. So the course has two parts that work together.

The 33 content lessons teach the 8 units. The 8 skills lessons teach the science practices: task verbs, experimental design, graphs, statistics, the formula sheet, models and claim, evidence and reasoning. The 13 virtual labs walk you through the College Board lab investigations with real-looking data.

Every lesson has the same parts: a guided session, multiple-choice and fill-in questions, flashcards, think questions and a practice test with one AP-style free-response question.
